Mirë se vini! It’s Eden (Martin) here. The alarm rang at 4:15 AM. Outside it was still pitch dark and pouring rain. I loaded the modern minivan with plenty of cold water, fresh fruit, homemade cookies, and Albanian chocolate for the road. By 5 AM I was already heading north toward Montenegro. We drove south from Vlora toward Saranda – coast, mountains, pure Albania. Stopped at the old stone bridge. Ancient steps drop to a turquoise river pool between rocky walls. Quiet, wild, beautiful. Tasted real homemade raki with locals. Strong, warm, shared with stories and small bites. Bought fresh mountain honey from a roadside store – golden, pure, straight from the bees. Good music on the speakers, windows down, views changing every bend. Simple, real, unforgettable.
